ResumoThe COVID-19 pandemic poses a great challenge for a generation of researchers who live history while trying to understand it and the situation calls for interdisciplinarity to understand the behavior of this disease, within the framework of social inequality.This study discusses the behavior and impact of the pandemic in neighborhoods on the outskirts of the city of São Paulo, especially in Capão Redondo, located in the South Zone of the city of São Paulo.Under the Environmental Justice approach, the article identifies one that the lethality of the disease that today frightens the whole world, is even more serious within the framework of social vulnerability, a result of the inequality present in our society
