RESUMO: Este ensaio propoe-se a analisar o testemunho sobre a luta clandestina contra a ditadura militar no Brasil construido no livro Batismo de sangue , de Frei Betto. Para tanto, por um lado, busca-se a compreensao de uma obra que pode ser lida como a recordacao pessoal do proprio trauma e do de terceiros, imersa na narrativa coletiva dos militantes revolucionarios, como uma reconstrucao comunitaria em que o elemento pessoal se dissolve e se confunde com o grupal; e, por outro, tenta-se decifrar as camadas narratologicas utilizadas pelo autor para a composicao do relato confessional de uma geracao. ABSTRACT: This essay aims to analyze the testimony about the clandestine struggle against the military dictatorship in Brazil as built in the book Baptism of blood , by Frei Betto. For this, on the one hand, we seek to understand a work that can be read as a personal recollection of one’s own trauma and also as that of others, immersed in the collective narrative of revolutionary militants, as a community reconstruction in which the personal and the collective elements intertwine; and, on the other hand, we try to decipher the narratological layers used by the author to compose the confessional account of a generation.
