Resumo

Smart Calling Doorbell using GSM module help the owner of the house to identify the visitor through a phone call without having to go the door or main entrance. The main component used for this system is SIM900 GSM GPRS Shield and Arduino UNO R3. The GSM module provides a solution to the visitor and house owner communicate to each other by using the AT command. When the doorbell is pressed, it will generate a voice call from the GSM shield module to the house owner’s phone number that has been registered and entered earlier through the Arduino serial monitor. Visitors can communicate with the house owner through the speaker and microphone attached to the doorbell panel. An LCD is also mounted to the doorbell panel to display the message send by owner to the visitor whenever the phone call made to the house owner is failed or unanswered. The LCD will also display any message send by the owner through SMS by sending the SMS first to the GSM module. In the situation where the owner is not at home, he/she can leave a message and the message will be displayed on the LCD. The visitor will be acknowledged on the owner’s availability by reading the SMS on the LCD. Since most of the answering machine is placed at the door of the main entrance, this project is an ideal solution for those who have mobility problem or have difficulty either to reach the door or to the answering machine.
