Resumo

The purpose of this paper is to present an ethnography about the dispute songs known as challenge points between the incorporation entities called Pombas-Giras, Ciganas and Bruxas in the context of the terreiros in Manaus. As a theoretical contribution we engage on a discussion that analyzes songs of derision and cursing in the interpretative search for the meaning of the challenges among female spirits in terreiro celebrations.
