ResumoWe read with interest the article by Dimbu et al. (1). We are puzzled by the title as we don’t consider there to be strong evidence of continued low efficacy of artemether-lumefantrine (AL) in Angola (1). Monitoring of artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs) has been conducted in Angola every 2 years since 2013. The reported efficacy of AL seems to have been fluctuating over time in Zaire Province: low in 2013 and 2015 and above 90% in 2017 and 2019. The efficacy appears to have been stable in Benguela Province but decreasing in Lunda Sul Province in 2019 compared to 2017. The efficacy of two other ACTs (artesunate-amodiaquine and dihydroartemisinin-piperaquine) remained high at all sites during the same period.
