ResumoThis research work deals with interlaminar shear behaviour of surface changed glass fiber/ treated steel wire mesh combined epoxy hybrid composites. The glass fiber is immersed with either by 1Normality concentrated sulfuric corrosive solution or sodium hydroxide. The hardened steel wire mesh is likewise surface treated by either electro polishing or sand blasting. The method used for fabrication of laminate is hand layup. The laminate comprising of corrosive treated glass fiber and electro polished or sand blasted tempered steel wire network displays prevalent interlaminar shear property in correlation with the composites made without any surface treatment. The mechanism and effect of surface treatment on glass fibre and steel wire mesh with respect to interlaminar shear behaviour is detailed with micro structure of the deformed region.
