Os alfa-hidroxiacidos (AHAs) sao um grupo de acidos e tem como principal acao a queratolitica, alem de estimularem a sintese do metabolismo do DNA basal, de glicosaminoglicanos, colageno e fibras elasticas e melhorarem a hidratacao da derme, devido as propriedades umectantes. Estas acoes justificam seu uso em diferentes disturbios inesteticos, entre estes pode-se ressaltar o fotoenvelhecimento, a acne e as discromias, destaca-se que estes disturbios afetam tanto mulheres quanto homens, podendo gerar impactos na vida social e profissional. Neste contexto, o objetivo geral deste trabalho foi revisar a acao dos alfa-hidroxiacidos no tratamento do fotoenvelhecimento, acne e discromias, por meio de uma revisao da literatura atualizada. O presente estudo caracterizou-se com uma revisao teorica do tipo descritiva com abordagem qualitativa, nesta perspectiva buscou-se informacoes a respeito da composicao quimica destes acidos, os diferentes tipos de AHAs, seu uso em cosmeticos, acao do AHAs no envelhecimento cutâneo, acne e discromias e sua eficacia no tratamento destes. Atraves deste artigo, percebeu-se que os AHAs promovem melhoras significativas na pele fotoenvelhecida, com acne e hiperpigmentada, podendo assim ser considerada eficaz para estes fins. ABSTRACT Alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) are a group of acids whose main action is keratolytic, in addition to stimulating the synthesis of the metabolism of basal DNA, glycosaminoglycans, collagen and elastic fibers, and improving hydration of the dermis due to the humectant properties. These actions justify their use in different unsightly disorders, among which one can highlight the photoaging, acne and dyschromias, it is highlighted that these disorders affect both women and men, and can generate impacts on social and professional life. In this context, the general objective of this work was to review the action of alpha-hydroxyacids in the treatment of photoaging, acne and dyschromia, through an updated literature review. The present study was characterized by a theoretical review of the descriptive type with a qualitative approach. In this perspective, information was sought on the chemical composition of these acids, the different types of AHAs, their use in cosmetics, action of AHAs on skin aging, acne and dyschromia and their efficacy in the treatment of these. Through this article, it was noticed that AHAs promote significant improvements in photoaged skin, with acne and hyperpigmented, and can therefore be considered effective for these purposes.
