Two Westerns That Weren't?: 'The Tracker' and 'The Proposition'

ResumoThe two Australian films 'The Tracker' (Rolf de Heer 2002) and 'The Proposition' (John Hillcoat 2005) are discussed as examples of the Western genre. The conclusion is drawn that the Australian version of this Hollywood standard is, due to the involvement of the Aboriginal, frequently an anti-Western.
