Recent seroconversion was confirmed by the evolution of antibody profiles tested with a strip immunoblot assay (Chiron RIBA HCV 3.0 SIA, Ortho Clinical Diagnostic Systems). The patient had no history of blood transfusion or drug use.In December 1993, she had undergone under anesthesia for colonoscopy without biopsy.
