Resumo

Our qualitative study investigates the challenges faced by the Paraiba municipality of Bayeux, during the special education regime, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. We approach the national scene, while we know more about the socioeconomic context and other local aspects. We make a retrospective of the planning adopted by the Municipal Department of Education in order to ensure the continuation of the school year. To better understand the process we interviewed four educational technicians responsible for the early years of Elementary School, the scope of our research. In view of the result obtained, we discussed the problems and the solutions found. We note that many of the challenges posed have been established for a long time, only underlined by the global health crisis. We provide an overview of how teachers and students were affected in the teaching and learning process. We present and discuss the results of a month of non-attendance activities.
