Resumo

Effect of Conduction ofTomato Plants and its Policultivation with Corri on theAttack of Scrobipaljniloides absoluta (Meyrick) and Helicoverpa zea (Bod.)ABSTRACT -Thc effi.ct of two methodologies of tomato plants conduction (conventional or vertical) and intercropping with corn plants tu four nianagement systems were evaluated for the control of Scrobipalpuloid'es absoluta (Meyrick) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) and Helicoverpa zea (Bod.)(Lepidoptera: Noctuidae).lntercropping tomato with corri reduced the leveI of attack hy S. absoluta to the stem apex (ca.4%) and to leaves (ca.11 %), of tomato, and caused higher attack of H. zea to tornato fruits (ca.50%).Vertically tutored tornato plants were less susceptible to S. absoluta attack to staik apex of the plants (ca.S%).Lower levei of attack by this pest ocurred in leaves of tomato plants conventi onal ly tutored.
