Resumo

Populations of whileflies l9rstly collected in July 1993 associated with cahbage and tomato cornmercially grown in the Federal District were identified as Bernisia argentioIii Bellows & Perring.To this date the silverleafwhitefly has heen collectcd in other cuitivated crops such as nianihot and string-hean, and a weed, Euphorbia heterophila.This is the first record of the species in the agricultural region of the Federal District, Brazil.
