ResumoBiology and behavioural aspects of the coconut leafminer ,Taph r oca r us cocois Bondar, 1922 (Coleoptera: Buprestidae) and occurrence of parasitism.Taph r oce r u s cocais Bondar, 1922 is a small beetle wi th 4 .5mm of body length.It is often found in the coconut estates of Ser gipe, Brazil .The larvae are the main cause o f the damage .They make a longitudinal gallery inside of the leaflet ' s limb,feeding on the internal tissues.The biology of th i s insect was observed under natural condi tions, using one-year old coconut, as substract .The life cycle lasted 49 days : egg incu bation -12 days , larval stage (3 instars) -25 days and pu= pal stage -12 days.The damage on coconut has no economic importance .
