ResumoThere were many scientists who contributed to the MRI technique (MRI) of today. Studies in biology, physics and chemistry were made to the first picture Magnetic Resonance Imaging be formed. RM phenomenon occurs when the patient is in contact with magnet MRI equipment, which happens excitement tissue radiofrequency pulse, being magnetized and produces another signal that is picked up and taken to the analog-digital converter, which plays to a computer where is mathematically constructed an image. The spine to give sustainability to the body is the most abused anatomical area in many ways, so the pain in the lower back are very common medical complaints. A herniated disc is the most common disease that affects the nucleus pulposus and the fibrous ring of the lumbar vertebrae. The best test to diagnose herniated disc is by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which allows a better view of the whole, soft tissue and surrounding structures, providing sagittal, coronal and axial sections.
