espanolEl presente articulo aborda un somero estudio de las Bases y Destacamentos que ha utilizado La Legion desde su fundacion hasta nuestros dias. Logicamente son cientos de ellos y resulta materialmente imposible hacer una resena de todos. En un principio se trata de determinar el porque del estudio de esas instalaciones, que tienen de diferente a los de otra unidades, que los ha hecho peculiares y porque siempre han estado los legionarios tan orgullosos de sus cuarteles. De la cuna de La Legion en Dar Riffien hasta la base mas moderna de la actualidad hay una constante evolucion, que va algo mas alla de lo puramente arquitectonico, tratando de adaptarse a las necesidades de cada momento pero sin olvidar lo que nos dice nuestro Credo, el Espiritu de Acudir al fuego y el que nos marca el de Sufrimiento y Dureza,… “trabajara en lo que le manden”. Se trata los acuartelamientos y campamentos que tuvo La Legion en sus primeros anos de creacion por todo el Protectorado de Marruecos y como quedo despues de la independencia de ese territorio y la creacion de los cuatro Tercios. A continuacion la epoca de Ifni/Sahara y sus Tercios, hasta llegar al final de la estancia de La Legion por aquellas tierras. Ceuta, Melilla y Fuerteventura, con sus Tercios, hasta la aparicion de nuevo del 4o Tercio en Ronda y la BRILEG en Almeria. La participacion de La Legion en las misiones internacionales, con un nuevo modelo de Base/Campamento finaliza el presente articulo. EnglishThis article presents a brief study of the Bases and Detachments employed by the Legion from its foundation to our days. Of course, there are hundreds of them and it is physically impossible to make an outline of all of them. Firstly, we will try to determine the reason for studying these facilities, which difference do they have from those of other units, what has made them peculiar and why the legionaries have always been so proud of their barracks. From the Legion´s cradle in Dar Riffien to the most modern contemporary base there is a constant evolution, which goes something beyond the purely architectural fact, trying to adapt to the needs of each moment but without forgetting what our Creed tells us, the Spirit of Answering to the fire and the one that sets that of Suffering and Hardness, ... “he will work in whatever they order him”. We deal with the barracks and camps the Legion had in its first years of formation throughout the Protectorate of Morocco and how they stood after that territory´s Independence and the formation of the four “Tercios”. Then comes the Ifni/Sahara epoch and its “Tercios”, until reaching the end of the Legion’s presence in those territories. Ceuta, Melilla and Fuerteventura, with their “Tercios”, until the formation of the 4th “Tercio” in Ronda and the Legion Brigade (BRILEG) in Almeria. The Legion’s participation in international missions, with a new Base / Camp model, ends this article.
