Resumo

The Brazilian longitudinal highway -BR116, besides being one of the busiest in the country, is also one of the most important, as it connects the Northeast to the extreme South of Brazil.The section analyzed was the Southeast (called Rodovia Santos Dumont), between the cities of Teófilo Otoni -MG and Itambacuri -MG.With a length of 30 km and in some segments with two lanes in each direction, the stretch presents several pathologies in the flexible pavement.This work, based mainly on the DNIT 005/2003 -TER standard, identifies and catalogs these pathologies, through photographic surveys and on-site analyzes.It was possible, due to the procedures used, to verify that the majority of pathologies are found in sloping segments or close to urban areas, where the braking and acceleration forces of heavy vehicles are more frequent.Cracks, patches and sinks are just some of the most common problems encountered on the stretch, many of which are in an advanced state and with demodulated dimensions, with structural damage in the flexible pavement being visible.It is inferred that the discomfort and disturbance
