The objective of this work is to propose a way to reduce taxes in order to encourage the use of photovoltaic solar energy by the consumers. In the methodology, the existing programs Goiás Solar and Palmas Solar were used as a basis, in addition to data provided by the Municipality of Teresina to verify the feasibility of applying the program in the state of Piauí. The results demonstrates that a implementation of Piauí Solar, besides generating a greater diversification of the state energy matrix with the growth of the use of photovoltaic solar panels, also provides an economy in the adhered residences, leveraging the state development.
