ResumoThis study intends to understand how ancestral knowledge and practices, taught and experienced in candomblé, can constitute educational practices that permeate the formation of teachers and reach the classroom with the power to oppose the practices of religious racism present in the school. It is justified by the importance that Terreiros de Candomblé has in its constitution as a place of resistance to the dictates of coloniality that, historically, has omitted and erased our belief, our knowledge and practices, our religious, social, historical and educational belonging. It is a qualitative study, elaborated from a narrative research, starting from the interior of candomblé of people who make religion, from a personal perspective of our own experiences as a teacher and also a practitioner of candomblé at Ilê Axé Runtó Rumbôci.
