ResumoCharged by the evolving industrial revolutions, contemporary supply chains are characterised by integrated Digital Supply Chain networks. Though the benefits of global supply chain are vast, the COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the vulnerability of these networks in managing supply chain risks. While the history of the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR) model is characterised by both criticism and approval, in this paper we argue that it can still serve as an opportunity of edification to achieve supply chain agility and resilience via strategic and intelligent re-design. To achieve this, we propose the use of the SCOR model and its associated best practices, particularly focusing on the SCOR performance attributes, namely, Cost, Reliability, Agility, Responsiveness and Asset Management to motivate revisions to existing supply chain risk management approaches as a strategy to recover from the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
