EnglishThe article intends to devote attention to the inclusion of a specific group, that is, people with intellectual disabilities. Giving that the majority of the Brazilian population lives in cities, the text will focus the urban inclusion. The right to the city and the inclusion of persons with disabilities are two developing fundamental, constitutional and diffuse rights, thus it deserves attention. The goal is the satisfactory implementation of these rights, covering as many people as possible. The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities imposed parameters and it has resulted in a great evolution of the inclusive treatment of people with disabilities in Brazil, through specifics governmental measures and laws. However, it is still important to improve that situation, specially taking into account the various needs of people with intellectual disabilities. portuguesO texto chama a atencao a inclusao de um grupo especifico de pessoas, quais sejam, as pessoas com deficiencia intelectual. Considerando que a maior parte da populacao brasileira vive nas cidades, o trabalho se atem a inclusao urbana. O direito a cidade e a inclusao das pessoas com deficiencia sao dois direitos fundamentais, constitucionais e difusos em desenvolvimento que merecem atencao, para que sejam satisfatoriamente efetivados, na maior amplitude possivel. Os parâmetros impostos pela Convencao Internacional sobre os Direitos das Pessoas com Deficiencia resultaram em uma grande evolucao na abordagem inclusiva dessas pessoas no Brasil, por meio de leis e atos especificos. Sem embargo, ainda e necessario aprimorar esse contexto, que segue com alguns obstaculos, especialmente se levado em conta as diferentes necessidades das pessoas com deficiencia intelectual.
