ResumoDiscussing verbs in Turkish according to their semantic characteristics enables the manifestation of margin among some of the verbs. The common point among the verbs is action. However the verbs such as gör-(to see), düşün-(to think), bil-(to know), hatırla-(to remember), üzül-(to upset) are showing mental action, the verbs such as dur- (to stop), kalk-(to stand), git-(to go), gel-(to come), otur-(to sit) shows physical action. It is observed that the verbs countering to actions occuring in two different manners as physical and mental be utilized under generic titles and the same group, mostly as "oluş(being), durum(state), kılış(action)"in classification studies related to Turkish language.Nevertheless, the verbs which does not reflect the physical action should be evaluated separately. In this direction, it is seen that mental actions are studied under "mental action" title as different verb type in the grammer studies of Turkish in recent years. The actions expressed by the mental verbs are based on mental process. This mental process comes into existance with various phases effecting the next in line.It is a process which is generally evaluated as three phases starting with perception, continuing with mental procedures and ending with various outputs. These phases in the mental process have been expressed smilarly by researchers but dissimilarities have emerged in handling. In this study such a method has been apllied for the mental verbs determined within Gagauz Turkish: 1. Input Stage Verbs(Verbs of Perception), 2. Process Stage Verbs (Verbs of Cognition), 3. Output Stage Verbs(Verbs of Expression). The verbs of expression within the output stage ,have been divided as verbs of emotion and verbs of explanation.Verbs of explanation have been discussed under the titles of visual explanation verbs and linguistic explanation verbs.
