ResumoComic books are an art form that uses the overlapping of words and images in sequence and they have gained space as an object of various fields of knowledge. The academic works that focus on this kind of art grow frequently and, even if the authors need to fight against some prejudices still found in some areas, they stand out mainly for their boldness. Arnaldo Albuquerque was a cartoonist, photographer and filmmaker from Piaui , in Brazil, who stood out for his pioneering work. He is the author of the first comic of the state, Humor Sangrento (1977). The purpose of this article is to analyze the Carcara comic, published in the previously mentioned magazine, and for such, this paper presents graphic resources, which are common in comic books, like page, balloons and level of speech. This paper encourages the reader to interpret the presented comic.
