Resumo

Between the end of 1977 and the month of January 1978, the first resumption of Indigenous Lands in Brazil took place in the land of Rio das Cobras, in the State of Parana. It was the trigger for a wave of repossessing that followed throughout the southern states and Brazil. Seen as a threat, the SNI then decided to intercept these movements, in addition to the strong repression suffered by the leaders and indigenous peoples, the military invested heavily in espionage and investigations of the people who were supporting the articulations. Among the main investigated persons were those linked to the Conselho Indigenista Missionario (CIMI). Thus, the discussion aims to analyze the persecution suffered by the members of CIMI-Sul, accused of influencing the organization to retake the Rio das Cobras Indigenous Land. As sources is used a documentation related to the SNI is used, as well as records from theDepartamento de Ordem Politica e Social, and publications from CIMI-Sul.
