ResumoespanolEl sindrome de Stevens-Johnson es una reaccion mucocutanea grave cuya etiologia es principalmente secundaria a farmacos o a infecciones; existen otras causas menos frecuentes. Clinicamente los signos y sintomas que deben alertarnos sobre dicho sindrome son fiebre, mucositis y afectacion dermatologica extensa. El diagnostico se basa fundamentalmente en la clinica y puede apoyarse en pruebas complementarias como la biopsia cutanea. El tratamiento suele requerir atencion hospitalaria urgente, por lo que en atencion primaria es fundamental conocer los sintomas guia de esta patologia para derivar lo mas precozmente. EnglishStevens-Johnson syndrome is a severe mucocutaneous reaction whose etiology is mainly secondary to drugs or infections, with other less frequent causes. Clinically, the signs and symptoms that should alert us to this syndrome are fever, mucositis and extensive dermatological involvement. The diagnosis is fundamentally based on the clinic, although it can be supported by complementary tests such as skin biopsy. Treatment usually requires urgent hospital care, so at the Primary Care level it is essential to know the guiding symptoms of this pathology in order to derive as early as possible.
