Urban and sociocultural dynamics

Here we are focusing in introducing and discussing our perspective about Buarque’s comprehension of care and carelessness aimed at child and childhood. In order to approach this questioning, this study performed bibliographic research about art and social reality; childhood and being child; listening and relistening to a set of songs by Chico Buarque, in single authorship or partnership, since the 1960s through the 2000s. We submitted the acquired data to thematic content analysis, where the following categories emerged: children’s play; childhood characteristics; care and carelessness; childhoods; and moments of life. In care and carelessness we see how Chico seeks children’s reminiscences and to value people.
