ResumoThe present study aimed to verify if the six regions of Paraná can be represented by a single biomass equation by means of the identity test. The equations established for Araucaria Mixed Forest areas in the municipalities of Araucária, Boa Ventura de São Roque, Castro, Coronel Vivida, General Carneiro and Reserva do Iguaçu were used.To verify the possible identity between the models, the Regazzi method was applied, which consists in the comparison through the F test, the complete models and reduced (hypothesis H 0 ).The F test for the equations of the six areas under study was not significant for α = 5%, for the reduced model of the selected equation (F 0 = 0.311 and F α = 1.69), accepting H 0 .Therefore, the model identity test was adequate to analyze the different characteristics of the regions that are highlighted in the adjusted equations. In addition, the test indicated with 95% confidence that the six regions can be represented by a single equation.
