Resumo

CuO-SnO2 nanocomposites have been successfully synthesized by using co-precipitation method and their potential as CO gas sensor was studied. Thermal stability of the as-prepared and annealed CuO-SnO2 nanocomposites is confirmed from TG-DTA study. XRD result shows pure phase formation of CuO-SnO2 heterostructure. The UV study shows that the CuO-SnO2 nanocomposites possess band-gap of 2.63 eV. Furthermore, we have studied the gas sensitivity of the CuO-SnO2 heterostructure. The gas sensitivity is found to be 3.52% for 100 ppm CO gas at 200 °C operating temperature. The CuO-SnO2 sensor shows excellent repeatability of the sensor to CO gas.
