Resumo

In this work, we present a counting technique to solve three problems frequently discussed in mathematics classes.We explored the relationship between the problems of determining the sum of the first n terms of an arithmetic progression, how to determine the number of diagonals in a convex polygon with n sides and that of calculating a probability in a finite sample space.They are relevant applications to motivate counting methods in high school.
