ResumoThis article discusses curriculum as an instrument for disciplinary control within schoolwork and over teachers’ identity. It analyses educational policies and the ways of control that have been developed in Brazil and Latin America in the 90s, intending to standardize education according to market tenets. Those ways of control have been produced mainly through ideology, here understood as an interpellation of the individuals toward a disciplined behavior. This interpellation constitutes a practice of governing that looks forward to submitting schoolwork and teachers’ identity to the current neo-liberal capitalist market demands
