Resumo

Wetlands are high biodiversity ecosystems. The wetlands of Benjamin Aceval City harbor ahigh number bird species. However there are few studies about the ornithofauna that inhabits the periurban wetlands. To investigate the bird community composition and richness, a total of 37 observationswere made at 13 different points between the year 2016 and 2018. A total of 272 species of birds wereidentified, belonging to 55 families, with the order of Passeriformesbeing most abundant. The results cancontribute as a basis for designing conservation strategies in the area, which is still undergoing urbanmodifications in the studyarea.
