This article examines the “transelation” of Alberto Caeiro’s O guardador de rebanhos by Erin Moure (Eirin Moure). Since Moure takes considerable liberties with the poems by the Fernando Pessoa heteronym, she problematizes the extent to which a text can be an independent creation and still be a translation.
