Experiencias de intervención psicológica a través de las redes sociales en la provincia Ciego de Ávila

Resumo

The social isolation and confinement imposed by COVID-19 has required psychology professionals to extend the scope of their interventions to the digital context. The present work was directed to the presentation of the main results of several experiences of psychological intervention through groups created in the social networks Facebook, WhatsAppand Telegram, as an initiative of the University Welfare Group of the University of Ciego de Avila Maximo Gomez Baez, in the period between April and October 2020. These virtual groups aimed to provide psychological support to their members, on various topics. The selection of these resulted from the application of surveys carried out systematically to know the main needs of the participants. Based on these results, bibliographic searches and documentary analyzes were carried out on each suggested topic and educational materials were prepared that were later shared. Activities to be carried out by the family at home and that are helpful in controlling negative emotional states were also suggested, and information published by other channels with similar content was disseminated as a collaboration. To evaluate the effectiveness of these groups, surveys were conducted and user comments were collected. In general, the work of the groups created was evaluated as satisfactory and the suggestions were related to increasing interactivity with the members of each group, using more graphics and images to represent the information offered and expanding the scope of these to other means of communication.
