ResumoThe recruitment of the ala II Asturum took place either in the Augustus' final years or in the early years of Tiberius' rule, their soldiers being most probably trained in the camp of the legio X Gemina. lts first outpost was Panonia, from where is subsequently marched to Britannia, there to be permanently allocated; the first garrison was stationed at Bremetennacum (Richbester) and then at Cilurnum (Chester), near Hadrian's Wall. Among the military ranks in this body of auxiliary troops a number of prefects and centurions, together with two sesquiplicarii and one curator, are to be found in epigraphic documents. Its final days seem to correspond to either the last decades of the third century or the first decades of the fourth.
