This book is intended to provide an introduction to the basic principles of laparoscopy, thoracoscopy and endoscopy in the care of the infant and child. The primary emphasis of the book is on the newer modalities of laparoscopy and thoracoscopy, but it should be remembered that these are merely another form of endoscopic surgery. The text provides information and guidance to those practising minimally invasive surgery and should stimulate others to apply these techniques when it is in the patient's best interest.
