ResumoPercutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) is an effective and important alternative to continued medical treatment or coronary artery bypass grafting in the management of patients with obstructive coronary artery disease. Symptom relief, increased exercise capacity, reduced antianginal requirements and a shortened hospitalization for unstable angina are benefits attributable to PTCA.
