Resumo

This article presents the personalist pluralism as a proposal to overcome the pluralism currently present in society that distinguishes itself by an exacerbated stress on difference thus reinforcing individualism as a lifestyle. For this reason, it is not surprising that there are many truths, all of them demanding the same space in society. This multiplies social confl icts to the point of putting into question if it is still possible to live and act together. In this context, there is a need for a point of convergence that creates a minimum basis of cultural and social homogeneity. We indicate the human person as this point, understood according to Karol Wojtyła's personalism. On this basis, we began to elaborate the personalist pluralism. It is about a pluralism that considers the human person as its foundation, point of convergence and communion of the parts of the community, preserving unity and diversity, for the common good.In this research it is used the analytical method and bibliographical research. With this we come to the conceptual outline of personalist pluralism that can be practiced in social life. This feasibility comes from the ontic order (analogy of being and metaphysical participation) and "participation".However, the success of this kind of pluralism is conditioned to the education for the encounter with the other and the recognition of the human person as such.
