Resumo

The article presents a study of metal threads found during excavations of a medieval settlement on the Eski-Kermen plateau (Republic of Crimea, Bakhchisarai region, Krasny Mak village) in two burials of the first half of the 14th century. The elemental composition and morphology of the threads were studied by electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis. The imported origin of the precious threads was established. It was assumed that the artifacts belonged to the Mediterranean handicraft practice.
