The word "MetaVerse" is composed of the prefix "meta" and the root word "verse", meaning "beyond the universe". It has also been described as "Meta Universe". The concept first originated in the 1992 American science fiction novel Snow Crash by author Neal Stephenson, which described a form of human life and communication in a virtual three-dimensional space through a digital avatar (later made famous by the science fiction film of the same name). The book describes a virtual three-dimensional space in which humans live and communicate through their avatars (later made famous by the science fiction film of the same name), and calls this virtual three-dimensional space, with the human avatar at its core, operating independently of the real world, the "MetaVerse". In his 2018 film Ready Player One, Steven Spielberg depicted an imaginary world, Oasis, in which, in 2045, people are trying to escape the chaos of the real world and take on new identities to socialise and entertain themselves. Not only does the Oasis provide players with a realistic sensory experience, but it also has full social and economic rules, and digital content and objects can pass through it, so it is seen as the ideal form of a metaverse. The industry consensus on the metaverse is that it is a real-time online world that has evolved from the internet, a new economic and civilisational system made up of many platforms, both online and offline, that are connected. According to a study, interactive immersion technologies (AR, VR, MR), artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain are the three core technologies for building the metaverse. Interactive technologies blur the boundary between virtual and reality to provide immersive experiences; AI provides large-scale, perpetual content production; and blockchain anchors new productivity relationships in the metaverse. The metaverse is a digital universe of shared infrastructures, standards and protocols that are not isolated from the physical world.
