This being a non-ICBIC year, there are variety of regional BIC conferences.EuroBIC 10 will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece from 22 to 26 June and AsBIC V from 2 to 5 November in Kaoshiung, Taiwan.Neither location has hosted a major BIC meeting previously and it is great to see BIC meetings moving to new sites.North America does not have a comparable regional BIC meeting, but in its place there are CanBIC held in Georgian Bay, Canada and a number of Gordon Conferences that cover our field.I have reported previously on the Metals in Biology GRC held in Ventura, California early each year.This meeting continues to go from strength to strength with a record 175 attendees this year.A feature of the meeting this year was the presentation of the first Ed Stiefel Young Investigator Award to Jennifer L.
