Autores ResumoAtlanta is the host city for the 1984 Annual Meeting, scheduled November 11-15.This Southeast major metropolis was first the site of the Academy meeting in 1981.The entire meeting will be housed in the Georgia World Congress Center, which has expanded since the Academy last met in Atlanta.This will mark the first time that the entire Annual Meeting will be held under one roof.Scientific sessions will be offered daily, with evening sessions only scheduled on Sunday.Instruction courses will be presented Monday through Thursday.As in the past, most Academy Fellows and Members may attend the 1984 meeting as a benefit of membership if they have paid their annual dues in full.The Georgia World Congress Center opened in 1975 and js designed to accommodate larger organizations with complex programs.The setting is ideal for the Academy's program of simultaneous educational offerings.All the scientific sessions, posters, exhibits, instruction courses, films and videotapes, technical exhibits, and the Academy Resource Center will be housed there.The Center's exhibition hall is one of the largest single-level halls in the nation.A full range of eating facilities will be available to accommodate Academy Week attendees, including a large cafeteria, buffet restaurants, and other concession and 251 lounge areas.In addition, many restaurants will be readily available to attendees in the adjacent Omni Hotel and shopping complex.Designed to educate practitioners and other health professionals about new developments in ophthalmology, the program will include scientific papers, exhibits, posters, films and videotapes, technical exhibits, and a wide range of instruction courses.
