ResumoAbstract In 1977 Tanzania has celebrated the tenth anniversary of the Arusha Declaration. In these ten years many things have been accomplished, but it has also become very clear that there is still a long way to go before the ideal of self-reliance will be fully realized. Below three people reflect on the past ten years and on the future. The first one is the President himself, Julius K. Nyerere. The second one is a very critical student of Dar es Salaam University, whereas the last one is a Luthern minister, speaking on the task of the church in Tanzania as a socialist country. N.B.
