
Ensino, sensibilização e prevenção das parasitoses intestinais em turmas do ensino médio em uma escola da rede pública de Xexéu-PE

ResumoIntroduction: The intestinal parasitic infections are infections caused by protozoa and helminths, affect more than half of the world's population. Objective: In this study it was verified the socioeconomic aspects, knowledge of the main parasitic diseases, associated factors in the transmission and prevention of the main human parasites among students at a public school in the municipality of Xexéu-PE. Methodology: To evaluate the students ' knowledge was applied a questionnaire with questions, adapting to scientific language popular, 327 participated in the research high school students aged 14 to 18 years, while 40.98% male and 59.02% of genre female. Results: Note that 85.32% eating fruits, vegetables and raw vegetables, 71.25% don't wash their hands before eating, all students pointed to the presence of vectors like cockroaches and flies in their residences. With respect to the knowledge of the human disease, one can see that 41.28% claim not to know what are intestinal parasites, 83.18% reported ever heard of some kind of worms, 76.15% responded that ever heard of schistosomiasis and ascariasis, 67.28% reported that ascariasis, hookworm, schistosomiasis, enterobiasis, and taeniasis are diseases caused by worms and 43.12% responded that are abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting are suspicious that is with worms. Conclusion: With this, it is necessary to use educational activities belonging to the hygiene, prophylactic measures and health education are applied at the daily life of students by promoting the well-being of the population.
