He gained a Ph.D. in Neurochemistry and an abiding interest in adenosine function at the Institute of Psychiatry, London, in 1974. Following a postdoctoral period at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, he joined the Neuropsychopharmacology Group at Merck, Sharp and Dohme, West Point, PA in 1976 where he worked in the dopamine, GABA, neurotensin, adenosine, and serotonin research areas. In 1983, he joined the newly formed Nova Pharmaceutical Corporation in Baltimore and helped establish the Biological Research Division. In 1984, he left to join CIBA-GEIGY in Summit, NJ where he is currently Assistant Director. He was recently (1987) awarded the D.Sc. degree in Pharmacology from the University of London.Search for more papers by this author Michael Williams, Michael Williams Research Department, Pharmaceutical Division, CIBA-GEIGY, Summit, New Jersey 07901 Michael Williams: graduated in Biochemistry from Chelsea College, University of London in 1971.
