Resumo

IFN-beta has been shown to play an important role in STING-pathway, leading to an anti-tumor immune response. Our lab has demonstrated that ionizing radiation can induce a dose-response of IFN-beta and its down-regulator TREX1 when exposed to X-ray (low-LET) and fast neutron (high-LET). Our hypothesis is that under hypoxia, IFN-beta production is suppressed and will be recovered by using high-LET particle beam. The purpose of this study is to investigate immune response under the influence of high- and low-LET and oxygen level.
