ResumoBurnout syndrome is a chronic stress response, affecting the performance of tasks, interpersonal relationships, productivity and even quality of work life, individual and organization due to direct exposure with patience, a full day's work often adverse conditions.constitutes a clearly defined framework, characterized by emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and powerlessness.Emotional exhaustion is the depletion of emotional resources of the individual.Depersonalization is characterized by emotional instability of the professional.The inefficiency (or feeling of incompetence) reveals a negative self-assessment associated with unhappiness and dissatisfaction with work.The goal is to determine signs and symptoms of existing and potential burnout in professional nursing at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Alfenas in the company's Intensive Care Unit (ICU).This is an exploratory descriptive in character, focused on quantity that was performed by applying a semistructured questionnaire to nursing staff, including assistants, technicians and nurses in the sector of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Santa Casa Charity of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Alfenas, accounting for a total population of 20 nurses, nurses and Sedo nursing.The results were obtained by analyzing the perception of nurses regarding their knowledge about the symptoms of burnout.The evaluation is done through questions about the perception of respondents about the reason for the choice of profession, the sense of accomplishment at work, job performance, work-related fatigue, symptoms related to the professional, emotional distress, relationship with colleagues, the use of substances that alter sleep, lack of concentration at work, interpersonal conflicts at work or family, the knowledge about burnout and the thought of changing profession due to frustration at work.Through research it is clear that some factors such as lack of concentration and interpersonal conflicts at work have high statistics for the problem because these two questions, being an industry Intensive Care Unit, should not happen in the proportion were presented as well as the high incidence of professionals who have irritability or lack of patience related to professional practice in the field of Intensive Care.
