Resumo

This study evaluated the effects of polysaccharides isolated from Lentinus edodes Berk and Agaricus blazei Murill mushrooms on the gelation process of the Pluronic® F127 (F127) copolymer. The structural characterization of these biopolymers suggested the isolation of an β-glucan L. edodes Berk (LEB) and a proteoglycan complex A. blazei Murill (ABM). Both polysaccharides showed good rheological properties for developing pharmaceutical formulations with antioxidant activity and low cytotoxicity in human neutrophils. The characterization of the gels formed from the mixture of polysaccharides with aqueous solutions of F127 showed that the presence of these biopolymers reduces the temperature range in which F127 remains in the gel phase (G’ > G’’). Furthermore, the thermoresponsive behavior of F127 was not lost, which favors the development of hydrogels with potential for topical use.
