SELECT statement command, or query is the only Structured Query Language (SQL) command used for data retrieval in a broad range of database systems from traditional RDBMSs to Big Data systems. A lot of papers presenting valuable information for SQL commands writing, tuning, usage, and optimization, but comparatively little effort has been spent systematically focusing on the identifying the internal performance of SQL SELECT statement, so this paper proposes a IPM for clarification, simplification, explicitly the presents the internal detailed processing of SQL SELECT statement that is not shown in the physical execution. IPM is aimed to be learned by both novice, and senior programmers, researchers, database practitioners, and students as good and robust choice of SELECT statement modeling, development, error detection and tracing. Also this paper presents basic summarized knowledge, and adequate methodology and terminology pertaining SQL SELECT statement that meet a conceived user’s requirements.
