Resumo

Objective: To identify in the literature which strategies aim to improve the mental health of the elderly in social isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This is an integrative literature review, built through six steps. The acromion PICOT was used for the elaboration of the guiding question, being Target Audience (P), Intervention (I), Purchase (C), Outcome/Outcomes (O) and Time (T). Thus, the guiding question of the study was: “Identify which strategies aim to improve the mental health of the elderly in social isolation?”. Data collection was carried out from June to July 2021, in the Virtual Health Library (BVS) and PUBMED databases, using descriptors obtained through the Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS), using inclusion criteria for the selection of articles. After reading these articles, a synthesis matrix was elaborated, containing the information. Results: Seven articles were selected, five from 2020 and two from 2021, all of which were published in English, in the PUBMED database. Final considerations: It is noteworthy that digital technologies provide an interaction of the elderly with their families, in addition to alleviating feelings of loneliness, depression and anxiety, experienced by these elderly people.
