ResumoMICHIGAN NOTESHoward C. Zindel has been appointed Head of the Poultry Department, Michigan State College, East Lansing, Michigan. He succeeded C. G. Card, who retired in December, 1953.Zindel, a native of Grand Rapids, was a member of the Spartan football team in his undergraduate days at Michigan State. He obtained a B.S. degree in 1937, specializing in poultry, and a M.S. degree in 1941.From 1941 to 1946, he served in the armed forces, leaving the service as a Lieutenant-Colonel after several years of overseas service in the Air Corps. He joined the poultry extension staff of Michigan State College on release from the armed forces in 1946.In recent years he has been Secretary of the Michigan Poultry Improvement Association and prominent in state hatchery and poultry processing organizations.
