ResumoIn Northeast Brazil, climate instability and the occurrence of dry spells preclude proper growing tomato in all seasons. Thus, it is necessary the use of irrigation to meet the water demand of the crop, but both excess and deficit soil water can affect the production and fruit quality. In this context, it was evaluated, with this work, agronomic aspects of tomato "Caline IPA 6" grown under different rates of fluid replacement in semiarid area of Paraiba. The experiment was conducted in the experimental area of the Sector of Fruit Crops and Plant Ecophysiology of Paraíba State University, campus Catolé do Rocha (PB), where 5 levels of water replacement were studied (50, 75, 100, 125 and 150% of ETo) in randomized complete block design with random 4 replications and 9 plants per plot. The ETo was estimated based on the Penman-Monteith model. Were evaluated agronomic and productive variables in tomato plants. The irrigation depths significantly influenced the characteristics analyzed, being evidenced that the agronomic aspects of tomato "Caline IPA 6" are positively affected with irrigation levels above 100% of the need for culture. The variation in the water replacement in the consumption of tomato affects yield components with greater intensity in fruit number and yield per plant.
